Having your own domain adds an additional layer of professionality and legitimacy to your online portfolio and includes free email forwarding. Don't have your own domain name? We include an optional free .co.uk with every site. Already have a domain name? We'll help you set it up on your The Artists Web website; it normally takes a little over 24hours to transfer.

Are there any technical requirements for using The Artists Web?

If I know HTML, can I use it to customise my Artists Web portfolio?

Certainly, and many of our members do. Although no HTML or other programming skills are required to create and manage a complete portfolio website with The Artists Web, a little bit of HTML can extend your customization options and lend even greater personal style to your portfolio.

How can I stop people downloading and printing my work?

We provide a facililty that automatically puts a copyright note on your images. However, the resolution of web page images is too small for printing out at good quality. The resolution of a computer screen is 72dpi, but the minimum resolution for print is usually 300dpi; this means that images on the screen will only print properly at a size less than a quarter of the size on the screen.

How secure is the credit card payment facility on my website?

The payment facility is via PayPal, one of the largest internet payment processors. They have extensive security and fraud protection measures as well as having a lower rate of fraud than regular visa and mastercard merchant accounts.More info on www.paypal.com.
