Dix Waterson

Dix Waterson is resident on England’s North Norfolk Coast and on Spain’s Costa del Sol.
Notable artistic achievements include acceptance to the Royal Society of Marine Artists annual exhibition at London’s Mall Galleries, where the original of one of the prints herein sold on Preview for £1,250 in 2001.

Work ranges in style from photographic through varying degrees of impressionism to abstract, with the majority originating as watercolours.
Personally my art philosophy is to aim for a picture that is sufficiently strong to still ‘speak’ from the far side of a room.
My preference is for a degree of impressionism that relies on the stimulation of the viewer’s imagination to ‘read’ what is suggested, rather than simply seeing what is reproduced in photographic detail.
The creative Artist doesn't paint what he sees....He paints what he wishes he could see.
