At Home...for Christmas is traditionally 'The Place to Be'. In my mind, I wanted this Round Boxed Canvas to capture the warmth and richness in family life, as relations gather round the circular dining table to exchange good wishes, enjoy good food and celebrate Jesus's birthday. I have prepared this canvas by building up, knocking back and building up again, layers of quality Artist's texture mediums, plaster, acrylic, acrylic inks, threads, PVA, minute beads, spray cans and wax. My intention to drizzle wax from one side of the canvas to the other is to emulate the diversity and depth of conversations within the family unit as they to and fro across the table, and to show a feeling of warmth in the glowing colours. I have used quality Artist's gloss varnish to finish off with a truly scrumptious glaze. This painting has an almost planetary feel and would look wonderful as a focal point to any wallspace. If you would like a similar painting but in a different colour or size, I'd be more than glad to consider a commission. This original painting comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
