We Will Remember Them is a painting I did in memory of two girlfriends who lost their battle with cancer in 2004. Each beautiful poppyhead represents them both. The initial inspiration came from a painting I sold of a single abstract red poppy, painted for a Gallery in Chester, with Remembrance Day for victims of war as the inspiration for that painting. It sold quickly. Acrylic 'Relief' and gold paint was used to highlight certain petals in this contemporary painting. Kind permission was granted by artist Sue Barsby for me to use a similar style 'poppy head technique' to hers. If you'd like a similar painting of colours to suit, I'm happy to discuss commissions.
