This is the now deserted RIC barracks that has apparently been empty since the 1920s. One story tells of a gun battle down on the main road. Another that someone ran from the barracks at night and fell down the cliffs to their death. On Tim Robinson’s map of Doolin it mentions that the barracks were built n the site of the “old Gore house”.
